Human Resources Generalist / Payroll Specialist

Overview of Position

Harper Industries, Inc. has an immediate, full-time opening in Human Resources and Payroll. Some Saturday work may be required.

Requirements:

• Excellent data entry, data cleaning and math skills

Desired Experience and Education:

• College degree recommended

• Previous experience in Human Resources and Payroll/Accounting preferably within a company of a similar size

• Strong customer service background

• Experienced with Microsoft Office Suite

Special Job Dimensions:

• Travel may be required on an as-needed basis. Less than 10% expected

General Job Responsibilities

• Weekly payroll processing, preparing and distributing hard copy or electronic paychecks

• Maintaining HR/payroll updates to the database including, time off notices, employee data, schedules, etc.

• Labor-Trak set-up and daily monitoring

• Maintaining confidential records and information

• Assist employees with questions/concerns, working to resolve discrepancies with a sense of urgency

• Assist HR Manager in complete recruitment process

• Assist HR Manager in completing outside documents such as employment verification, state unemployment paperwork, benefits verifications, garnishment answers, etc

• Running various reports for department, supervisors/managers, management, etc

• Back up for HR Payroll Assistant position

• Acquire a general working knowledge of the Human Resources Manager position in order to perform as a backup to the position

• All other duties as assigned

Position open: Immediate

Beginning Salary: BOE

Bonus: Overtime approved by supervisor
